Why spring

The season downtown wakes up

Spring in Caldwell is a season of firsts: the first warm evening at the plaza, the first farmers market tents, the first patio tables back out on Main Street. The trees along downtown blossom, and the event calendar, quiet since January, starts filling again.

It is also the easiest season to eat your way through town. Restaurant Week gives the downtown kitchens a reason to show off, and the wine trail's tasting rooms are a short drive into the hills west of town.

Where to eat in Caldwell

Plan a spring visit

  • Base yourself downtown and walk to the plaza, the restaurants, and the depot.
  • Drive the Sunnyslope Wine Trail for a spring afternoon of tasting rooms and orchard views.
  • Check the plaza calendar before you go; spring events are added as the weather firms up.
